A character with this
proficiency is able to follow the
trail of a character or creature int he
same fashion that a ranger
can track
(see UA, page 21) -- except that the
base chance for success is half that of
a ranger: 5% per level of
the character, plus an additional 5%,
up to a max. of 55%. A
character without proficiency in tracking
has a base chance of
0% on any attempt to follow a trail, but
may still be able to engage
in tracking if the total of all applicable
modifiers is a positive number.
