Giant otters dwell in lakes
&& rivers.
These creatures are basically
non-aggressive, but if threatened or cornered they can fight fiercely.
These creatures love to
play -- sliding and tag are favorite pastimes.
If such play is in progress
when the otters are encountered, the creatures might panic horses,
overturn wagons, accidentally break carts, etc. Even in the water, similar
danger exists with regard to boats and other small craft, for the otters
may accidentally overturn them in playfulness.
If discovered in their lair, there will always be 5 giant otters - 2 adults and 3 young (40%-70% grown). The parent animals will always attack in this circumstance. The young will defend themselves.
The pelts of giant otter sell for from 1,000 to 4,000 gold pieces.
