As with other magic bags, this one appears to be a common cloth sack of about 2' x 4' size.
The bag of holding opens into a
non-dimensional space, and its inside i s larger than its outside dimensions.
Regardless of what is put into this item, the bag of holding always
weighs a fixed amount.
This weight, the bag's weight limit in contents, and its volume content
are dependent upon its quality as shown below:
Dice | Weight | Weight Limit | Volume Limit |
01-30 | 15 pounds | 250 pounds | 30 cubic feet |
31-70 | 15 pounds | 500 pounds | 70 cubic feet |
71-90 | 35 pounds | 1000 pounds | 150 cubic feet |
91-00 | 60 pounds | 1500 pounds | 250 cubic feet |
If overloaded, or sharp obiects are placed within so as to pierce it, the bag will rupture and be ruined, and the contents will be lost forever in the vortices of nilspace.

Question: What would
happen if you placed a full Bag of Holding into an empty Bag of Holding?
I want to be able to carry
as much treasure && magic as I can without
encumbering myself.
Do you think this is a good
idea?
Answer: This is an
interesting idea, and one which I discussed
with the TSR Hobbies, Inc.
Design Dept. We have all agreed that
if a full Bag of Holding
is placed in an empty one, only one more
small (ring-sized) item
could also be placed in the second bag.
Since all Bags of Holding
are made by the same sort of magic,
they do not work in their
normal fashion with respect to other
bags. So, once a full bag
is placed in an empty one, the second
one becomes full also, except
for the single, small extra item
that may be fit inside it.

Q: What happens when
a bag of holding
is turned inside out? Will
the
nondimension&l space
inside rip?
A: This will completely
empty the bag, but
no spectacular effects will
occur. The
nondimensional space inside
the bag is
present but inaccessible
as long as the bag
remains inside out, rendering
the bag
inoperative except as a
normal (nonmagical)
bag. While inside out, the
bag
looks just like any other
well-made but
inside-out bag (see the
DMG, page 138).

ADQ: Will a spell
effect (such as Dispel
Magic) affect things kept
inside a Bag
of Holding or Portable Hole?
ADA: No. The space
"inside" either of
these magic items, and all
things in
such spaces, are actually
on another
plane (ethereal? astral?
DM's decision),
and far out of range of
the effect.
(Interesting adventure material
-- while
plane traveling, you come
across all
this junk.)

ADQ: If a Bag of Holding is pierced from the
outside, will anything happen to the items
within?
ADA: They will vanish into nilspace, just as if
the bag had been pierced from the inside.
