Because
it does not use iron-based metal, this armor is immune to the
effect of rust monster attacks and similar perils. However, its protective
quality is not as good as regular plate mail (AC 4 compared to AC
3), and in addition its construction makes the wearer more vulnerable

in addition to other bonuses that may apply.
