This was another bizarre-looking animal
of the Miocene. Moropus looked vaguely
like a horse with short ears, and was
about the same size but with a downwardsloping
back. It was a herbivore but had
short heavy claws which it used in digging
and defense, as well as for pulling down
tree limbs for feeding.
