These powerful creatures travel
rather slowly, and in order to cross water
they must travel through
the ground and go under the bed of the body of
water (possibly a long trip).
They score full damage against any creature
which rests on the earth,
-2 on each die of damage against other
opponents (flying, levitating,
etc.). Against constructions built on stone or
earth they act as a super
battering ram, causing 2-8 points of structural
damage (a typical cottage
having about 7 structural points). They can be
summoned from earth or stone.
On the elemental plane of earth there exists a boss rumored to be of astounding size.

Elementals:
Most elemental creatures are hostile at worst (or
uncaring at best) toward humanity and
other Prime Material
beings. The elementals of Earth are more
so than is normal,
owing to the fact that most travellers
cannot pursue them far into
their own plane. They generally prefer
to be left alone, but serve
as elemental guides provided the price
is right (and the more
intelligent elemental ceratures drive
a hard bargain indeed). The
only good things to be said about earth
elementals are that they
are strong and their normal interests
lie in something that adventurers
usually carry--gems.
Elemental creatures
and monsters come in a wide variety of
forms--usu. large, blocky creatures filled
with angles and
sharp edges. Using their passing ability
to reach parts of the
plane unreachable by lesser mortals, the
elementals prefer a quiet
existence.

At that time elementals were
rubbery dime store critters about 65 mm scale, each vaguely reminiscent
of the element it represented, the fire figure a red
and orange, the water one shades of blue,
Can't recall the color of
the air one, but it was whirrled I think.
The earth elemental figurine
was sort of man-like and lumpy perhaps.
Memory begins to fail me
after some 35 years.
