Effect: The paralyzation
spell enables the spell caster to create illusionary muscle slowdown in
creatures whose combined hit dice
do not exceed twice the
total level of experience of the illusionist.
If the recipient creatures
fail their saving throws, they become paralyzed,
and a dispel illusion or
dispel magic spell must be used to remove the effect,
or the illusionist may dispel
it at any time he or she desires.
Q1: Can a character who is
paralyzed yell for help?
Q2: Can such a character
use psionics?
Q3: Cast spells?
A1: No.
A2: Yes, because the mind
is unaffected.
A3: No, unless the being
that is paralyzed has innate spell-like powers like those of a demon,
devil,
beholder, or lamia (for example), in which case these powers can still
be used at will.
