The vile race of taers inhabits the coldest
mountain regions, dwelling in caves and continually hunting for food.
Normal attack is by kick, punch, and bite,
although 50% of these creatures will have crude spears
which they will hurl prior to closing for melee.
Spear hurling is at +1 to hit and +3 to
damage.
Stench: The taers ooze a
fatty excretion which has a particularly vile odor.
Any creature within 10 feet of a taer
must save vs. breath weapon or suffer a disorientation and nausea which
will last for 2-5 hours.
Attacks will be penalized by -2 to hit
probability and -1 damage.
Immune to Cold: This same secretion aids these creatures to withstand cold, even of the magickal sort.
Treasure: Taer's treasure
is typically a collection, of polished teeth, horns, and crudely sculpted
stone idols.
There is a 15% chance for real treasure
captured from some human victims.
If such treasure does exist, there is
a 10% chance for 1 magic item to be included, especially a weapon.
Description: Taers resemble
white-haired,
greasy, shaggy cavemen.
They might, in fact, be some kin to mankind.
Hair color is gray to snow-white.
The head is large but has virtually no
forehead.
