A character with
this proficiency is able to build
structures from
stone in such a fashion that they last for many
years. The stones
are often, but not always, mortared together. A
stonemason equipped
with chisels, hammers, wedges, and a
block and tackle
can build a section of wall one foot thick, 10 feet
long, and five feet
high in a day.
Stonemason, Equipment:
Like a carpenter, a character with this proficiency
usually goes where
there is work. The most limiting factor
of the mason’s task
is the availability of stone. Often stones can
be gathered in the
immediate area where they are needed. Usually
a stonemason maintains
or has access to a sturdy wagon and
a few oxen, so he
can transport his materials if need be.
