From the landing between areas 402 and
409, 20 foot long stairs descend 10 feet fur-
ther to the grand corridor leading to
The Greater Temple itself. The ornate murals
on
the walls continue their macabre motif, but
the further one passes northward, the lower
the figures become, until they all appear to
vanish into the floor by the time the Temple
is reached.
This corridor is normally empty, but is
guarded by a pair of trolls (from
area
402)
during alerts.
