Effect: The cleric casting a lower water spell causes water or similar fluid in the AREA of effect to sink away.
Lowering is 5% of original
effect for every level of experience of the cleric,
i.e. 40% at 8th level, 45%
at 9th, 50% at 10th, etc.
The effect of the spell
lasts for 1 TURN for each level of experience of the cleric casting it.
Likewise, the AREA of effect
increases by level of experience,
a Patriarch (C8) affecting
an AREA of 8" X 8", a High Priest (C9) an AREA of 9" X 9", and so forth.
MC:
The cleric's {religious

MC.magic-user:
A small vial of water
&&
a small vial of dust.
Wu Jen: The wu jen casting this spell may lower water or other fluid by 5% of its current height per level.
MC.Wu
Jen: A glass vial || dust.
WSG: If water exists
below the surface of the desert in
the AREA where the reverse
of this spell is discharged, the magic
will bring it toward the
surface but not necessarily all the way to
ground level, so that characters
might still have to excavate to
find it. The unreversed
application of the magic can be used to
enable characters to ford
a deep river or perhaps cross a narrow
lake on foot, assuming that
the water is lowered enough to allow
such passage and that the
travelers can cover the distance from
one shore to the other before
the spell duration expires. Even
though not all the water
in the river or lake will be within the area
of effect, the water that
does spill into the area of effect as the result
of the lowering will be
immediately lowered itself.
Q. Will water-affecting spells
(eg. lower water)
affect water in a form other
than liquid -- fog or ice?
A. No. The very use of the
word water
means only the liquid form
will be
affected. Fog and ice
must be dealt
with through other spells.
(Imagine #2)
Raise Water: The reverse
of the spell causes the water or similar fluid to return to its normal
highest level,
plus 1 foot for every level
of experience of the cleric casting it.
Raise Water.M-U: The
reverse spell raises water only 1/2 foot per level of experience
of the spell caster.
Raise Water.Wu Jen: The spell's reverse, raise water, raises the water to its highest normal level, plus 1/2 foot for every level of the caster.
MC.Raise
Water.Wu Jen.: A vial of water.
