  • cure wounds (6-21 hit points -- 3d6 + 3),
  • or cure insanity.

    Each function drains 1 charge.

    The device can be used but once per day on any person (dwarf,
    elf, gnome, half-elf, halfling, half-orc included), and no function may be
    employed more than twice per day, i.e. the staff can only function 8 times
    during a 24 hour period. It can be recharged.
