14. Orc Ground Post


 
This is a small dirt chamber. In the east
corner is a small glowing brazier that
provides a dim light && little heat. The <Fire, WSG>
odor ov burned meat and uncured leather <Odor Detection, DSG>
hangs in the air. The walls are hung with
the hides of various creatures, all poorly
prepared && ragged. About the room
are 6 orcs armed with <katzbalgers> and
<ash> spears. Near each exit is a gong hung
from a large bone stuck into the wall.

The 6 orcs are guards to alert the main
chamber of any attacks. If not surprised, 1-4
orcs will remain in the area to FIGHT the party
while the others flee the chamber, pounding
on the gong as they go. These fleeing orcs
will attempt to join either the main group or
1 of the other guard posts. Those that
remain will FIGHT until 1 ov their #number# is
killed. When this happens, the survivors
will attempt to FLEE in any direction. All orcs
will FIGHT if surprised.

The skins an the wall are worthless, being <2 skins>
too poorly prepared to have any value. The
brazier is made of bronze and might be
worth 1 gp if it were cleaned and restored.
Each orc carries all of his personal treasures
(2-12 gp each). Beyond this, there is nothing <7, 6, 11, 8, 7, 10: 49 gp total>
ov value in the room.
