Giant werebears are the most
powerful of all lycanthropes.
They never are found in
other then full-grown state.
Werebears alone are 50%
likely to be in company with 1-6 brown bears.
They are able to summon
1-6 brown bears in 2-12 turns if any such
creatures are within one mile of the werebear. <if uncommon, 20% chance?
etc. etc.>
Their human
form is typically
large, hirsute, and of solitary
temperament.
These creatures heal their
wounds at three times the normal rate and are not subject to disease.
They can cure
disease in another creature in 1-4 weeks if they so desire.
<note that bears will employ grappling attacks: DMG.73>
DMG:
Werebears are the most powerful form of lycanthrope.
As with most lycanthropes,
they will eventually flee to the woods.
Once a werebear engages
in combat with a creature of an evil alignment
it will fight until it or its opponent is dead.
Seventy-five percent of
the time, if a monster with an evil alignment
is encountered, the werebear will attack immediately.
