4. Winch Room

Darkness fills the interior of this room,
for the arrow slit in this room seems
clogged with cobwebs and debris. In the
darkness are pinpoints of glowing light,
like pale eyes watching and waiting.

This room is another guardroom which is
occasionally checked by hobgoblin patrols.
Dust has been stirred up in the center of the
floor, but lies thick in the room’s comers.
The lights come from cobwebs covering the
walls and ceilings. In the cobwebs are spiders
the size of a thumbnail, which glow in
the dark. They are harmless. This room
houses, in the western alcove, the 2
winches which are used to raise and lower
the drawbridge and portcullis. Each winch
has 3 locks upon it to prevent unauthorized <Open Locks, PH>
use.
