Effect: Xcept as shown above, this
spell is the same as the second level druid spell, charm
person or mammal (q.v.),
but the magic-user can charm only persons.
All other comments regarding spell effects apply with respect to persons.
DMG: Attacks causing damage upon the subject person will cause a saving throw bonus of +1 per hit point of damage sustained in the round that the charm is cast.

Question: When a Magic-User
casts Charm Person, must
he know the person’s language
in order to command him
after he has been charmed?
Answer: Absolutely.
If the spell caster doesn’t
know the language and didn’t think to bring a Comprehend
Languages spell with him, then it’s too bad.
The M-U now has a charmed
person with whom he cannot communicate.
(Correction: Comprehend
languages only grants comprehension -- NOT communication!).
Q: Can two different
spell-casters
charm the same creature,
or will the
two spells cancel each other
out?
A: There is no limit
to the number of times
that a creature can be charmed.
If multiple
charms are cast upon the
same creature,
each caster will be able
to influence
the subject. The DM will
have to decide
what the creature will do
in the face of
conflicting instructions.
It?s likely that the
charmed creature, being
?best friends?
with both casters, will
try to reconcile any
arguments between them.
